Maps

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

The NOAA has created an interactive map that allows you to view all of  California’s marine sanctuaries. These santuaries are home to a variety of wildlife and are protected to ensure the longevity of our marine ecosystems.  Calfornia’s marine sanctuaries encompass areas such as deep ocean gardens, near shore coral reefs, whale migration regions, deep sea canyons and historic archeological sites.  Interactive  map→

The Pacific Institute

The Pacific Institute has generated a variety of maps projecting sea-level rise for 2050 and 2100. The Pacific Institute has also prepared a report to summarize the impacts of sea level rise, which can be downloaded from this website. List of Maps→

California Climate Adaptation Strategy

The California Climate Adaptation Strategy is the first ever multi-sector strategy to guide California’s mitigate efforts for climate change planning. In this report, the California Natural Resources Agency summarizes the best known science on climate change impacts in seven specific sectors and provides recommendations on how to manage these threats. The strategy is in direct response to Gov. Schwarzenegger’s November 2008 Executive Order S-13-08 that specifically asked the Natural Resources Agency to identify how state agencies can respond to rising temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, sea level rise, and extreme natural events.

California Coastal Erosion Response to Sea Level Rise – Analysis and Mapping

The CA Coastal Erosion Response Report This report documents future coastal erosion hazards and the methodology used to estimate potential erosion from the Oregon Coast to Santa Barbara. As part of the Coastal Infrastructure and Vulnerability Assessment Project, this erosion methodology is applicable to other areas along the west coast of the United States, and was developed to be modular so that updated estimates could be more rapidly accomplished with improved data and refined methods.
